Weza's Experience:
'I encountered this opportunity through the DIVERT, Bounce Back Project. Upon hearing that it is relevant to Marketing, I jumped at the chance. As somebody who co-founded a brand catered towards creatives, learning more about marketing and social media will not only benefit me but also those I will work with in the future.
Taking part in this has highlighted the significance of collaborative effort on a new level that I was not yet exposed to. Despite the existence of diverse teams and different levels of authority, open communication prevails. Furthermore, I have acquired the skill of task prioritisation, recognising the varying degrees of urgency inherent in certain assignments, owing to their potential to assist clients or colleagues. I received encouragement to confidently present my work across all endeavours, particularly emphasising my role as a creative individual.
The aspect I most appreciated about working with ITRM was the inclusion and encouragement to contribute suggestions and participate in decision-making processes. Feeling genuinely integrated into the team enhanced my overall experience and provided the necessary confidence boost. Whenever assistance was required and requested, I received attentive listening and clear, thorough explanations.
One aspect I found challenging was the act of seeking assistance. Initially, I tended to keep to myself, attributable to the unfamiliarity of the environment. However, I was promptly made to feel at ease and assured that any issues or concerns could be openly addressed with a member of the team. This environment of support facilitated a transition wherein soliciting help became a more comfortable endeavour.
Following my time at ITRM, I harbour numerous goals and aspirations. Primarily, my immediate objectives revolve around securing a position in either the marketing or technology sector. This endeavour is driven by my desire to leverage my acquired experience and certifications effectively. By doing so, I aim to not only thrive within these industries but also contribute to the professional development of others within the field.'
The Outcome:
The ITRM Marketing team has expressed their admiration for Weza, stating that working with her was an absolute pleasure. They have also expressed their desire to maintain contact with her and remain updated on her future endeavours. ITRM wishes Weza all the very best!
