On Friday 11th September the sun shone brightly to welcome players participating in the annual Bexley Moorings Charity Golf Day.
Despite the challenging year we have all experienced, 8 teams took part on the day and the generosity of those in attendance was truly overwhelming. Together, the teams raised £5693 to enable the Bexley Moorings Project to continue to do their fantastic work, supporting vulnerable young people within the Borough of Bexley.
Once all teams had concluded their games, they gathered to hear about some of the success stories of the Project from their team of volunteers. Later, ITRM’s Danny Hill stepped into the role of Auctioneer and the atmosphere amongst the teams was fantastic. Items kindly donated for the auction included a 1 week cottage break in Whitstable, an afternoon tea experience at London’s Oxo Tower, a four ball at the London Golf Club and signed Charlton Athletic shirts, to note only a few!
Anne Bennet, Bexley Mooring’s Chief Executive, said -
“The amount raised was amazing. Throughout this year there have been extra challenges faced by the families supported by Bexley Moorings Project. In working with the families we have identified that some young people currently require a more lengthy support to make changes in their lives and this funding from local people and companies will be used to directly support these local families.”
Bexley Moorings is one of the many charitable organisations for whom ITRM provide IT support services and also feature heavily within ITRM’s comprehensive CSR programme, which involves supporting numerous local charities, the provision of work experience opportunities and apprenticeships.
ITRM's expertise within the charity sector has enabled the Moorings Project to fully utilise a range of IT solutions best suited to the needs of their organisation, whilst enjoying a range of benefits exclusive to ITRM’s IT Managed Services portfolio designed specifically for charities.
The Bexley Moorings Project supports over 200 vulnerable young people within the Borough of Bexley through one to one work and group activities. The Project helps to get children engaged and builds upon their confidence to allow them to achieve things that at one time would have seemed impossible. The Moorings Project rely heavily on the commitment of their fantastic team of volunteers and fundraising events such as their annual golf day to operate. ITRM look forward to continuing to support the Moorings Project in the future!
